TLPA in Las Vegas

by Kristina Rhoades

The Taxi, Limousine and Paratransit Association recently had their 94th annual meeting and expo in Las Vegas and the MV-1 was a big part of the show. Since the city was alive with Halloween festivities, we figured we'd make a big splash and "raise our glasses" to the industry with a Cheers theme! Our booth was complete with a replica Cheers bar, cold brews, a custom theme song and opening credits, waitresses and our own Cheers cast.

We had a blast filming a live VPG Cheers skit in front of our TLPA audience! Members of the VPG team played Cheers characters, while others of us played ourselves, as we informed the audience about the MV-1. We welcomed three football legends - Gerald White, Lorenzo White and Jarrod Bunch - as our celebrity guests and they did a great job interacting with the crowd and demonstrating the roominess and durability of the MV-1. Also, we loved awarding $2,500 to two lucky winners! And it really touched me when the first winner, who is a transportation provider, said she was putting her winnings toward a new CNG-fuelled MV-1!

Like always, the VPG team came together and worked hard to put on a great show. It was our pleasure to have the opportunity to educate attendees about the MV-1, especially considering that the original concept of the MV-1 was a taxi. It is an industry that is close to our hearts and we're proud to offer the first purpose-built wheelchair accessible vehicle, that also happens to be available in a clean, domestically-sourced fuel. We're seeing more MV-1 taxis everyday and now, as we introduce the LX, we are excited to see more accessible black cars out on the roads as well. Companies like Q Transport of Chicago and Veterans' Taxi of Pittsburgh are really leading the way.

Once again, I 'walk' away from this event feeling honored to be affiliated with a company that is making a positive impact. VPG is made up of a group of people that are excited about what they're doing and the passion is inspiring. We all really and truly believe in the product and I know I can say that I love doing my job.
