Fun at DisAbilities Expo in South Florida

by Kristina Rhoades

This past weekend, some of our team, including my family, attended a local expo in Davie, Florida, to show the MV-1. In fact, not only were we in attendance, but VPG was the largest sponsor. VPG Marketing Manager Cathy Meyer, Regional Sales Manager Eric Harper, my husband, daughter, and I joined a great group of guys from the local Fort Lauderdale MV-1 dealer - Auto Mobility Sales. For a smaller show, mostly attended by people living in Broward County, I was impressed by the turnout and the variety of exhibitors and events.
From open until close, the event was busy and lively. At the entrance of the expo there was a DJ and at times, live music being performed by show attendees. Throughout the day other events were featured, including a real-deal wheelchair basketball game with a packed crowd, as well as a fun fashion show. The Nova Southeastern campus seemed to be a perfect setting, too. From art shows, to face-painting, it was good time for all.
Together with our dealer, we had two MV-1's at the expo for people to check out. One of our favorite visitors was the happy little guy pictured below that showed us that it was no problem for him to push up the short ramp on his first try. We also enjoyed connecting with some old and new friends and some other local organizations. Most importantly, we left inspired - which just about always happens after interacting with this community that we're a part of! We definitely look forward to attending again next year!
